Kelly Knight, candidate for School Committee, addressed the group and provoked a lively and interesting discussion of the future of the school system. Thank you, Kelly, for sharing some time with us.
The Committee also approved the new proposed bylaws which are here.
Lastly, the Committee had it's annual elections of officers. This year there is one additional position, that of Affirmative Action and Outreach Advisor. This position is mandated by the Democratic State Committee. The new bylaws also replace the Corresponding Secretary with a Technology Secreatry and rearranged the duties a bit. The following are our officers for the next 2 years:
On Saturday morning, 2/8, Hopkinton Democrats met in caucus at the Fire Station and elected it's delegation to the 2014 Massachusetts Democratic Convention. Their job at the convention will be to vote on Democratic nominees for U.S. Senator, Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General, Treasurer, and Auditor. The Convention will be held June 13th and 14th in Worcester.
