Candidate Statement

My family moved to Hopkinton for one reason: the schools. Hopkinton has good schools. I want to make them even better, and I believe I have what it takes.

Our schools should prepare every child for the world they are actually going to live in. That world is AI-driven, interdisciplinary, and moving fast. I will champion community-led pathways in AI, Medical, and Business, modeled after proven programs in other districts but built by Hopkinton, for Hopkinton. These pathways will combine recommended coursework, internships, field trips, and competitions into a woven-in experience not an add-on, not an afterthought. And they will be powered by the extraordinary talent already in our community: parents as mentors, local businesses and corporate partners as potential sponsors, and families as the driving force behind their creation and governance.

Every child is different. A strong public school system exists to unlock that potential, all of it. That means moving beyond the legally mandated minimum for our special needs students. I serve on the Board of Friends of SEPAC, and I see firsthand that compliance is the floor, not the ceiling. Every child deserves a strengths-based pathway, one that identifies what they are brilliant at and builds their journey from there, including access to the same pathways we offer every other child.

I also believe public schools are not competitive marketplaces. When a child misses the cut for an opportunity, the answer is not to leave them behind. It is to give them a roadmap, specific support to close the gap and try again. And while they are on that journey, we owe them more than academics. We owe them the emotional foundation to keep going, the resilience to handle setbacks, and the belief that doing your best today is enough. The outcomes will come.

Inclusion is not a buzzword for me. It is personal. I didn’t just advocate for inclusion from the sidelines. I was in the streets, on the record, covered by the BBC, MSNBC, Washington Post, and many others. Hopkinton’s student population is 32% Asian, with zero representation on this committee. That is what my candidacy represents.

As a parent, I have sometimes found navigating this school system to be challenging. That experience is one of the reasons I am running, because I want to make it easier for every parent to advocate for their child. Supporting students does not mean lowering standards. It means providing the right structure so they can rise to meet them.

With a Master’s degree in Computer Science and 27 years as a senior technology executive, I bring strategic leadership, AI expertise, and real budget experience to this role. I will bring that same rigor to our school budget, using Responsible AI with the optimal balance to find efficiencies so we can do more with what we have, funding all programs without compromise.

In Hopkinton, I have am serving or have served on the following committees:

  • Zoning Advisory Committee
  • Design Review Board
  • Economic Development Advisory Board
  • Board of Friends of SEPAC

The work came first. The campaign came second.

In Hopkinton, we know substance serves our schools better than style. I would be honored to earn your vote.
