Local friends, our town election is coming up on June 29th.

I am very interested in the two contested races for School Committee and Select Board.

I will be supporting Amy Ritterbusch for Select Board. I had the pleasure of working with Amy on eHop for many years and I have watched her quietly give her time and services to many other organizations in town including the HPTA, Boy Scouts and a variety of town boards for as long as I can remember. She has such a deep understanding of our local government that she is the person people go to with a question. Have you ever seen a post on FB asking a question about local government where Amy hasn’t been tagged? She always has the answer followed by links with data and information. Her decision making is always thoughtful, deliberate and measured as she takes both sides into consideration. I think it is important for new voices on our town boards especially one as influential as Select Board which oversees our Town Manager.

The race for School Committee has a great selection of candidates. All have given tirelessly of their time to support their communities. I have chosen to support Joe Markey for School Committee, Hopkinton MA and Lya Batlle-Rafferty for Hopkinton School Committee I know all 3 candidates will be strong voices for social justice. Coming out of the pandemic, our school district faces many financial challenges. I feel it is important to have members on the board who have qualifications and experience to work through the budget in partnership with our administrators.

There is so much change in our future ahead and I feel these 3 candidates are the best to lead our town.
