How do I vote?

OPTION 1: VOTE EARLY BY MAIL

Unlike absentee voting, early vote by mail requires no excuse. You will receive your application by mail. The application submission deadline is November 1 but you’re advised to submit it earlier to allow time to receive your ballot, fill it out, and submit it on time. You may either mail your ballot or drop it into the special box in front of Town Hall. Once you submit your ballot you may track your ballot online.

OPTION 2: VOTE EARLY IN PERSON

Early in person voting will be available between October 22 and November 4, in the basement of Town Hall, during the following hours:

October

    • 25 (Tuesday) 8am – 7pm
    • 26 (Wednesday) 8am – 4:30pm
    • 27 (Thursday) 8am – 4:30pm

    • 29 (Saturday) 10am – 4pm
    • 31 (Monday) 8am – 4:30 pm

November

OPTION 3: VOTE AT THE POLLS

Vote Monday, May 15 between 7:00 am and 8:00 pm at the Middle School gym, 88 Hayden Rowe.

        What are the ballot questions?

        Initially the Hopkinton Town Democratic Committee endorsed ballot questions 1, 2, and 4. The HDTC now endorses all four ballot questions.

        QUESTION 1: Creates a 4% tax on taxable income exceeding $1 million, to be used for education and transportation. Find out more.

        QUESTION 2: Requires that 83% of dental premiums be spent on dental care rather than administration. Find out more.

        QUESTION 3: Expands the number of beer and wine licenses, and caps the number of full liquor licenses an individual can own. Prohibits the purchase of alcohol in self-checkout lines. Increases fines for selling alcohol to minors. Allows out of state IDs to be used to purchase alcohol. Find out more.

        QUESTION 4: Keeps in place an existing law allowing applicants who can’t verify citizenship or immigration status to submit certain forms of ID to obtain a driver’s license or motor vehicle registration. Find out more.
